The Isle of the Stones

The girl sighed, resigned, her gaze passing over the ranks of soldiers arrayed before her. Beyond them, across the plain, the assembled forces of her foe stood like a mirror to her own. She looked up dubiously at the colossal figures flanking her and her Commander. They would obey her, kill for her, and quite possibly die for her, yet their dour, stoic presence offered no comfort.

Schmidt alighted on her shoulder with a sympathetic purr, sensing her mood. She gave her friend an affectionate scratch and leaned her head against the small, furry creature, smiling sadly.

Miles to the northeast, the people of the city looked out in unease across the plains of Suffant to the gathered armies, wondering what doom the coming conflict would visit upon their wealth and prosperity.

They needn’t have worried — no one on the battlefield that day gave a thought to the city’s riches or arms. The true target lay to the east, on the island beyond the bay: Halunah-Eio, the Isle of the Stones. The slumbering Maseitai rumored to have been sealed for millennia within Gulled Stones on the quiet isle were a prize far greater than any mortal spoils.

• You choose a 2-Maseitai sideboard that you can swap in between matches

This is single-elimination, one game per match, 1 day per move.
